Exhibition & Performances

The archive with currently more than 153 artists will be accompanied by an exhibition presenting the documentation and videos of four key-performances from the Baltic countries (Mare Tralla from Estonia, Cooltourists from Lithuania) and Russia (PUSSY RIOT, a feminist punk-rock band from Moscow currently facing trial).
Opening: Monday, 27 August 2012
5 pm: Introductory words by the Tallinna Kunstihoone director Karin Hallas-Murula; speech by one of the curators of the project Bettina Knaup (Berlin) and introduction of the Tallinn project by the Tallinn curator Reet Varblane.
5.30 pm: Fat kid, pretty kid, Performance by Mare Tralla
6 pm: Grit and Husk, Performance by Marje Taska

Mare Tralla, Estonian media artist, curator and theoretician, lives and works in London. Was involved to the Eastern-European feminist project „Dender Check”.
Marje Taska, Estonian/Swedish artist, lives and Works in Malmö.

The curators Reet Varblane, Rebeka Põldsam, Liina Pääsuke will introduce a special selections from the archive reflecting its relevance in the Estonian context.
Oxana Sarkisyan, Moscow vased independent curator and art critic, has been involved with Tretyakov Gallery. Curated „Zen d’Art” at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, 2010
Laima Kreivyte, artist, art critic and curator based in Vilnius, member of the feminist group Coolturists, teaches at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and the Gender Studies Centre of Vilnius University, was involved to the Eastern-European feminist project „Dender Check”.
Laine Kristberga, curator, art historian based in Riga. Does doctoral studies in the Latvian feminist art.
Reet Varblane, art editor, curator, art critic, based in Tallinn. Has been curating feminist exhibition since 1994.
Rebeka Põldsam, curator, art theoretician, based in Tallinn. Works at the Contemporary Art Centre of Estonia, continues the master studies.
Liina Pääsuke, photo based artist, studies at the Estonian Academy of Arts.
